About Me

Jeanne Wakatsuki

When you leave and return,
The memory still remains.
Whether withered or wilted,
It does not wait in vain.

The silver dancer leaps
And gallops through the air.
I throw the dream away,
Only to find it is still there.

Come tomorrow, come yesterday,
Hope still remains.
For wherever the heart lies,
Memories do not wait in vain

Note: When Jeanne first arrived at Manzanar, she was only eight years old. She remained in internment for two years until she was released at age ten.
